OUR STYLE AND PHILOSOPHY

WE TEACH A VARIETY OF STYLES

It is our mission to empower each attendee with an educational foundation in a variety of yoga styles, though primarily focused on vinyasa flow and yin yoga. Once you have completed the course, you will have accumulated the knowledge and skills to host a variety of classes for all client types, anywhere in the world.

PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL ASPECTS OF ASANA

This is an in-depth study of postures, and how they affect the body physically and emotionally. You will explore asana in great depth, through the effects of gravity, the central nervous and lymphatic system, cellular structure, basic principles and so on.

ETHICS AND TEACHING PRACTICE

We will guide you on the ethics of becoming a yoga teacher. You will learn how to instil self-care in your practice and teaching, both for yourself and your future students.

One of our missions is to endow each course attendee with the confidence to find their own voice as yoga teachers.

HANDS-ON ASSISTANCE

You will gain self-assurance by knowing when and how to assist students. The differentiating between personalities and accommodating various body types.

THE SEQUENCE

We will share the complete ashtanga-inspired vinyasa flow sequence, honed over thousands of hours of classes.

PHILOSOPHY

We deeply explore a broad area of philosophy that is instrumental within the curriculum programme. This is to include historical makeup of yoga, the sutras, three guṇas; Patañjalis eight limbs, vrittis, pañca kleśās, and the purusharthas. We also cover how the ancient principles have led the way to modern practice.

BANDHA, PRANAYAMA AND THE SUBTLE BODIES

Learn the science of breath, bandha locks, and the workings of the energy bodies.  You will also become accustomed to the nāḍīs, the chakras, and the connection between individual asana and chakra activation.

MANTRA, MEDITATION AND MUDRA

Chant until your heart is content, realise the importance of drishti, and then find oneness in what true meditation is.

ANATOMY

Once you have undergone basic anatomy training. You will gather an understanding of how the body works. From here, you can apply this knowledge for safe and effective practice and teaching.

YIN AND AYURVEDA

There will be an exploration of the five elements: meridian lines, myofascial and fascial system, and pathways to the brain and nervous system. You will also gain knowledge in āyurvedic principles, nutrition and lifestyle, how to apply bolsters, sequencing for yin practice, and more.
